The Fiji Organic Project is leading the effort to shift agricultural production in Fiji to organic growing methods, particularly in the sugar cane industry, as a means of protecting the fragile island ecosystems and safeguarding the health of Fiji citizens while promoting sustainable economic development. The Fiji Organic Project is accomplishing this by conducting participatory action research and building a coalition of diverse stakeholders including university students, farmers, local professionals, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
